Bright Spot

Wow. So far 2020 has sucked. It is so much to take in. I never would have thought that anything like this on such a massive scale could happen. I realize that there have been virus’s and other medical issues/disasters that have certainly caused destruction throughout the years, maybe some that are more contagious. I am not a medical professional so I can’t make any sort of factual comment on that, but I do know this one is bad, really bad. I know of many people who are currently out of work, my husband being one of them, people that are sick and those that have lost loved ones and my heart goes out to each and everyone of them. We have certainly had a loss of sales and most of the events we count on throughout the year have already been cancelled. But given what others have lost, our loss just doesn’t even compare. So far the time being we just sit tight, hang out at home and try to do our part. We are still selling online and we make deliveries in our hometown. We don’t get to say hello to our customers and give them a big hug, but there will be time for that in future, I am certain of it.

Trying to look on a bright note, because that is what we should try to do right?…We have added a new member of the family. Fatty (terrible name) was dumped off at a shelter the day after Christmas and was in positively horrible shape. He is 11 and was at one time a champion in the bulldog show world. Basically this little guy won some awards and then got to be the baby daddy to a lot of puppies, making money for whoever owned him at that time. I realize that not everyone who came in contact with him over the years was a horrible pet owner. I haven’t met them and don’t really want to. But what I do know that this little guy had never been neutered, has heart worms, many rotten teeth, has trouble walking, and just couldn’t breathe by the time the rescue got him. As always, Georgia English Bulldog Rescue took care of his medical needs as much as they can, sparing no expense. So now he is currently snoring on one of the many beds we have for him, just waiting for the next snack. He can breathe, he loves to sit in the sun and he is an absolute sweetheart, so chipper and upbeat. He will be 12 soon, pretty good for a bulldog and we intend to make the most of the time he has left. And knowing that this little guy is a fighter hopefully he will be around for quite a while!
