Banana Bites

We have a banana bite that is a cookie...and we love it. But I was thinking about taking it one step further and actually have a banana to bite.  I have always seen the frozen banana pops all over the internet and think they are adorable.  So why not make them dog friendly..i.e. no chocolate.  Carob works just fine.  i think my 3 little demons have been fairly well behaved this week so this might be their lucky night!

Someone is getting ready!!!

Bathing Beauty

It is the time of year I really start thinking about the beach...I'm sure a lot of people do.  Since I am nowhere close to the crashing waves I will just enjoy this photo of my little surfer dude!!!

Oscar night

We broke with tradition and didn't order pizza.  It was a Longhorn's kinda night.  Could in no way afford it, but if I eat soup all week it will all work out.  Of course the night is not the same without Oscar..but the 3 demons seemed to enjoy the show and their toast points that their Dad made for them.  They are so horribly spoiled.  As always the show had it's highs and lows but it is still a night that I always look forward to. Maybe one dozy I will be lucky enough to snag an Oscar gift bag!!!!!

Pudgie Flamingos

Now we are known for our Pudgie Balls, but sometimes there are other creatures out there that are also feeling a little Pudgie.  Some of our Besties love flamingos so it was a no-brainer when I came across these lovelies.  I think the carob chips make classy.  A chocolate chip cookie is a true classic, so it is classy by nature.  No reason why our little buddies can't have their own classic.  Carob chips may not come anywhere close to a chocolate chip in my world, but in the doggie world they are the end all be all...especially since dogs can't eat chocolate...ever.

Enjoy the summer...sit by a pool with your doggie..glass of sweet tea...bowl of water...and some Pudgie Flamingos!

Blanche's Belated Heart Day

I am running late with this post....of course. At times when I can't bear dealing with those 3 demons of love in my home, I try to make one of them super cute and then I remember why I opened up my home to them in the first place.  Blanche is such a good sport.  She doesn't always enjoy our photo sessions but she can be tricked with a Pudgie Ball to do just about anything.  I have to be fast because even though her breed is not known for being extremely active, she can squirm with the best of them.

Happy Heart Day to everyone!  The best way to spend it is eating chocolate (carob for dogs) and giving out hugs!!

Southern Snow Day

Now let me say that it didn't snow last night. It sleeted and rained and then iced over.  Down here we are not prepared for such and pull out all of the stops when we think so much as an inch of slush is going to be on the ground.  Not a bad way to be, especially since most of the driver's around here aren't prepared to get from point A to point B. I am certainly no better than anyone else at this.

I am not a friend of cold weather. I may love New York but not their winter.  I spent one there once and by their standards it was positively balmy and I felt like I was living in an arctic hell.

Snow is beautiful and if I didn't have to deal with the aftermath I would really enjoy it for a day or so. If I could be certain that my cable/power would not go out and the dogs would run out and pee without a fight I would be able to handle it.  It would be great if the limbs from those horrible pecan trees would not fall in the neighbors yard, or for that matter my yard.

For now I will try to enjoy not feeling guilty about not running out in the yard to garden and plant seed trays when I get off work. Daylight Savings Time is coming and I will be back to buzzing around like a frantic bee trying to bake and plant and get everything done in a day.

Until then I will be glad that this photo was not taken today, but last year and go home and scarf some popcorn until I force myself to grab the rolling pin.

Year #2

When she came along she would only hide out in the corner.  Now she rules the house.  I guess that is the way it usually goes.  She is spoiled rotten, snorts and wheezes and lounges all day long.  When she is ready for her treats she will stand in the kitchen and bark nonstop.  She loves to snooze with the Spaniels but always make them move if they get in her spot on the sofa.  She is now 7 years old and quite the supermodel.  She has won photo awards ($500) and been in a calendar.  She goes to events for Georgia English Bulldog Rescue and poses..sometimes...for photos.  Her life may have started out badly but she has hit the jackpot and we wouldn't trade her for the world! So Miss Blanche  Marie Isabella Deegan....I am hoping for many, many more years to come.
