London Days

For January the weather was not half bad. Of course after the holiday markets I had been working this past December I was ready for the cold.

We decided to experience a little culture. The National Gallery has long been one of my favorite destinations to take in the sights of some of the greatest works of art or refrigerator magnets as I fondly refer to them. Once you see one of these paintings on a calendar or refrigerator you know you are looking at greatness!!

After all of these years, we had never walked across Abbey Road. The neighborhood drivers have a a ton of patience because there is always someone "crossing" the street and holding up traffic. I imagine in the summer months it is a nightmare for them. But we certainly joined in the fun.

Next step of the Empire...ice cream! Been making some batches in my ice cream maker. We went to Chin Chin Labs in Camden Lock for some yummy ice cream made with liquid nitrogen. Tasted like heaven!!

Spent a day in Brighton with our good friends and their urchins...they took us by this incredible wall of dogs!!

True friends!!!

Brighton Beach Boardwalk did not disappoint!!

Magnificent view from a bar in the Shard...just suck it up and pay the price for the cocktails. You even get some fancy cheetos with them. The view is worth it.

Oh yes!!! Could not pass this little Gelato shop by!

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Two words. Sad Face. But as always London...I will see you again soon.

New beginnings!

My bestie loaded up her 5 cats and drove to California..well she is driving right now. She took a travel nursing job in Placentia, CA for 3 months. I am so incredibly proud of her. She has worked long and hard for this opportunity and even though she was nervous about the choice she made she was equally as excited. I wish her all of the best and of course can't wait to sleep on the sofa bed in her apartment when I visit. CA here we come again!!!

Anything for London!!

Who wouldn't love to go to London in January?? For the right ticket price I am there. Luckily I have a dear friend who lives there and I try to pop over whenever I can.  Not to say that winter is my favorite season to visit but I will take what I can get!

My last trip the Box didn't make it but this time it has a passport and is ready to go! There are plenty of fantastic things to do and see indoors in the great city of London so if the days us a little dreary there is always a museum to take a twirl through. I will of course be checking out dog bakeries in London. Never hurts to check out the competition! And of course the donut tour should have plenty of spots to choose from!

Flying by

Miss Eloise not having fun but the trip to the vet was needed and at least after a lengthy dose of medication she seems to be feeling a bit better. She is a trooper. Even feeling a little yuky she has been a busy bee the past month.

She made a few new friends at a University of Georgia Football Game and even got to be on television!

Thanks to the people at SEC Live she got to represent her favorite cause...Georgia English Bulldog Rescue!

She got to hang out with the cool people at the Athens, GA Subaru Dealership on their fundraiser day for a local animal rescue.

She went to a Halloween Parade with her bestie Skippa..they decided to go as...Adorables!

She refused to wear her hat for more than the second it took to snap this photo.

She avoided raking leaves. Her reasoning is they are just going to keep falling so why bother!

She decided to take a break with her favorite sleeping buddy. I think she knows the holidays are upon us so she better get baking!!

Change of plans

Take a look at Dave's 50th birthday. Not that this little girl isn't precious...but because of her kidney stones and her first and only heat cycle, we have been chained to the house. No Florida and no Graceland for us this year :(. But what a face!!! Gotta love her!

Hopefully one day soon we will get to go on a donut/ice cream quest but for now we are just playing nurse to our littlest team member. While I have been hanging with our little patient I have been experimenting with some ice cream. Bought an ice cream maker and have been doing research and am now trying to create yummy goodness. There just may be a new addition to the empire...and this time for people to enjoy. I think ice cream sandwiches sound pretty good right about now!

Road trip!!!

It has taken awhile but I believe Dave's 50th birthday celebration destination has been chosen and I must admit I am surprised. Of all places he has chosen a road trip to Graceland!!! Don't get me wrong...I think it sounds fab! I have never been to Graceland and have always wanted to. Just never would have thought Dave would have chosen that particular destination.

We will be driving through Alabama and Mississippi on our way to Memphis! The entire travel team is not depicted in the photo but until we load up the car again this partial photo will have to do!

If anyone has info about cool places to check out on our route let me know!!!

Porch time

I always have to make my yearly statement that my porch is my favorite room of the house, so here it is! The porch buddy I have this year really takes me back a few years. Eloise certainly looks different from Oscar, but there is enough similarity there to make my look twice. luckily she finds the porch just as relaxing as the Spaniels and I do.

Summer markets are under way and being in Georgia it is really hot.  I can't take all of my flavors to the market due to the heat but our peanut butter flavors always make the trip.

Blanche's Banana Bites

PB&H Bites

Gotta love love treats made for you beastie!!

And Eloise is all about trying them out.

Maybe she should invite some friends over for a porch party!

I think the world could use a little porch time right now.
